You’ll Never Walk Alone in Liverpool

We love you Liverpool, We do,
We love you Liverpool, We do,
We love you Liverpool, We do,
Oh Liverpool we love you…

It’s true! I didn’t know it at the time, but it’s so true. This was my first time to Liverpool and I would grow to love the city and the team that play in red. We were here for the Godspeed gig, they are probably my Mum’s favourite band ever, so she was a bit giddy to say the least. We drove over straight after the humans finished work and parked close to the hotel – you’ve got to love how cheap it is to park in Liverpool compared to Manchester! The hotel was part of a complex that also housed a recording studio – pretty cool hey! You can check out Parr Street Studio by clicking on the link and if you’re looking for somewhere a bit different to stay, we give this place a thumbs up 👍

I’ll tell you all about the gig in another post, so I’ll skip that for now except to say it was absolutely awesome of course. On the walk back towards the hotel, we accidentally stumbled on Liverpool’s Chinatown and its very very impressive gate and lots of cool Chinese statues for me to get my picture taken with – check the photos below! We then went to our soon to become ‘go to’ drinking establishment in Liverpool, BrewDog, situated in the historic RopeWalks District of the city. After a few refreshing (and potent) IPAs, we walked around the corner to the hotel and the humans raided the minibar. Time for me to go to sleep 💤

The following day, we dumped out stuff in the car, gave the car park attendant a few extra quid and went in search of breakfast and found the very nice The Hub – Alehouse & Kitchen where we enjoyed a tasty full English and hot beverage. Fed and watered, it was time for a street art hunt. This is compulsory wherever we go and Liverpool is no exception, the home of the street art movement in the city is probably the Baltic Triangle, the city’s creative district, where there is plenty of Instagram worthy art to capture. Before we set off for home, we also ventured down to Albert Dock and a quick mooch around Tate Liverpool. Culture done, we set of home, via Crosby Beach (another one for later) and also had a cheeky stop off at The Egerton Arms in Cheadle and shared a Seafood Platter. Time for a nap now me thinks, I am stuffed!
